Tropical Marine Biology: Offered over spring break in the Bahamas, this immersive course will have you investigating ecological systems such as coral reefs, mangroves, beaches, tidal pools and inland habitats.
Environmental Toxicology: Study the properties, effects and detection of chemical substances in the environment and learn how that information is used to protect human health. Topics to be covered include dose-response relationships, biotransformation and risk assessment.
General Chemistry: Discover the fundamental theories and principles of chemistry and their relevance to issues in modern society.
Applied Statistics: Study an introduction to statistics and probability designed for all majors.

- Students identify a field of interest by completing a total of at least 24 credits of coursework in one subdiscipline: biology, chemistry, physics, earth science/environmental science, or mathematics.
- Students explain natural phenomena accurately using scientific terminology, symbols, and models.
- Students apply the scientific method to perform laboratory experiments (e.g., make an observation, formulate a question, develop a hypothesis, collect and analyze experimental data, draw and disseminate conclusions).
